The electrical power generation system has the incident wave front directed onto an impact surface with a given width and a height corresp. to the max. wave amplitude, which rotates about a horizontal axis adjacent its top edge, the rotation being used to drive an electrical generator. Pref. the impact surface is supported to slide under its own weight, so that it lies in an extended position in the lowermost position and is retracted in its uppermost position, for reducing the adverse effect of the wind on the energy generation system.
