The switch cabinet has a central control device (6) coupled via respective input and outputs to a number of monitoring and/or control devices (1.1-1.9 ; 5.1-5.9 ; 2.6,4.10). Pref. the monitoring group includes a sensor device (1) with a humidity sensor (1.1), a door position switch (1.2), a temp sensor (1.3), a vibration sensor (1.4), a smoke sensor (1.5), a current measuring transducer (1.6), a voltage measuring transducer (1.7) and/or a further temp. sensor (1.8), coupled to the central control via an input interface (1.9).
