A railway wheel brake has a radial disc (6) between a secondary flange (5) and a friction ring (R) flange (4). The hub and friction ring flange (4,5) are united by three or more parallel bolts (3). The friction ring (R) is self-centring with respect to the hub (N) hole (1) due to the action (i) of the bolts (3) or the friction ring hole (2) and (ii) the partial location of the bolts (3) in the other respective hole (friction ring hole (22) or hub bore hole (1)). The position of the bolts (3) in one peripheral sector of the friction ring hole (2) or the hub bore hole (1) is at an angle alpha which is equal to or less than 60 degrees.
