The invention refers to a passenger tramcar for traffic in both directions, fitted with doors on both sides, intended for traffic in densely populated urban areas, with heavy traffic and railways with no return loops. According to the invention, the tramcar for traffic in both directions is provided with translating platforms (10, 11, 12 and 13) positioned on the free surface of the cross bars (14), which delimit the stairs (1, 2, 5 and 6), so that they can be moved to the traffic direction to either side of the tramcar, usually having their reference position on the tramcar's left side as the traffic goes.
