ANTITUMOR CHRYSENE DERIVATIVES

Chrysene derivatives having formula (I) have been found to have antitumor activity. In this formula, at least one of R1-R12 is -R13Z, where R13 is a substituted or unsubstituted amino or amido group having from 1-12 carbon atoms, and Z is a substituted or unsubstituted heterocyclic group having fro m 1-12 carbon atoms; and the remainder of R1-R12 are independently selected fr om the group consisting of hydrogen, substituted or unsubstituted amino or amid o groups having 1-12 carbon atoms, nitro, and substituted or unsubstituted hydrocarbyl groups having from 1-12 carbon atoms.
