PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method and apparatus for stabilizing the amount of ink entering the gap between a plate cylinder and a furnisher roll even if a printing speed or the viscosity of ink is different at every printed matter to obtain good printed matter. SOLUTION: A unit for controlling the pressure of the furnisher roll of a rotary press to the plate cylinder is equipped with at least an ink viscosity measuring means for measuring the viscosity of ink, a memory means for storing the proper pressure of the furnisher roll when the printing speed and the viscosity of ink are preliminarily changed at every rotary press, a selection means for selecting the pressure of the furnisher roll, which corresponds to the viscosity of ink obtained by the ink viscosity measuring means and a set printing speed, from the table stored in the memory means and a pressure control means for controlling the pressure of the furnisher roll to the plate cylinder to the pressure of the furnisher roll obtained by the selection means. The rotary press using this control unit is also disclosed. |
