PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To produce an iron oxide particle having improved various characteristics such as environmental resistance, fluidity, heat resistance to be well balanced as a magnetic body and mainly used particularly for the application of a powdery material for electrostatic copying magnetic toner and black pigment powder for a coating material. SOLUTION: The iron particle containing Ti inside the particle is covered with a multiple oxide containing Ti and Fe as essential components and at least one or more kinds of metallic components selected from Zn, Mn, Cu, Ni, Co, Cr, Cd, Al, Sn, Mg and Ce on the particle surface.
