PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a superconductive coil cooling device which enables continuous operation of a superconductive coil without causing quenching even when coolant inside a coil container where a superconductive coil is stored decreases or runs out. SOLUTION: A spool 2 whereon a superconductive coil 1 is wound is formed of a high heat conductive material, and the spool 2 and a cold head 7b of a freezer 7 are thermally connected by an elastic high heat conductive member 9 formed of a high heat conductive material. When a coil container 4 is filled with liquid helium, the superconductive coil 1 is cooled by boiling cooling of liquid helium 3. Even if the liquid helium 3 inside the coil container 4 decreases or runs out because of leakage of the liquid helium 3 inside the container 4 or the like, heat generated in the superconductive coil 1 is transmitted to the spool 2 and cooled by helium gas, thus enabling continuous operation of the superconductive coil 1 without causing quenching. |
