FIELD: medicine. ^ SUBSTANCE: method involves placing a child in lateral position with legs close to anterior abdominal wall. Ultrasonic apparatus transducer is arranged in gluteal fold in sacral bone projection in perpendicular to skin in sagittal plane. Then, scanning is carried out in moving transducer in caudal direction. The process is stopped when visualizing al coccygeal vertebrae and spinal canal on the screen. The number of coccygeal vertebrae is counted on the sonogram. The number of coccygeal vertebrae determined in performing examination is counted from the last coccygeal vertebra in cranial direction in intraoperative period. One is added to the number as the last coccygeal vertebra, and sacrococcygeal segment resection place is determined on cranial edge of the last coccygeal vertebra. ^ EFFECT: avoided intra- and postoperative complications. ^ 1 dwg |
