POLYMER ELECTROLYTE FUEL CELL

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a polymer electrolyte fuel cell having high gas sealing property and stable output voltage.

SOLUTION: A sealing member in the polymer electrolyte fuel cell has: a first anode side sealing member surrounding an anode and sealing a portion between an anode side separator and an electrolyte membrane; and a cathode side sealing member surrounding a cathode and sealing a portion between a cathode side separator and the electrolyte membrane. The fist anode side sealing member closely adheres to the anode peripheral part in the vicinity of at least a gas inflow part of the anode side separator, and the first cathode side sealing member closely adheres to the cathode peripheral part in the vicinity of at least a gas inflow part of the cathode side separator.
