PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a vacuum cleaner capable of lowering the height of a cleaner body when a recessed part for a dust collection part is closed with a cover for the dust collection part and lowering the height of the cover for the dust collection part when the dust collection cover is upward rotationally turned and the recessed part for the dust collection part is opened. SOLUTION: This vacuum cleaner is provided with: the cleaner body 1 having the recessed part 5 for the dust collection part opened upward, in the front side; the cover 32 for the dust collection part vertically rotationally attached to the cleaner body 1 and opening/closing the upper part opening of the recessed part 5 for the dust collection part by its vertical and rotational turning; a locking means (a locking claw 41) locking the cover 32 for the dust collection part to the cleaner body 1 when the upper part opening of the recessed part 5 for the dust collection part is closed with the cover 32 for the dust collection part; a front wheel (a caster C) provided in the front side of the cleaner body 1; and rear wheels 21 rotationally retained to rear wheel support shafts 16 provided in the both sides of the rear side of the cleaner body 1. This vacuum cleaner is further provided with support parts (leg parts 35) extending to the sides of the rear wheels 21 in the both sides of the cover 32 for the dust collection part, and the support parts (the leg parts 35) are rotationally journaled to the rear wheel support shafts 16.
