PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a solid state imaging device for obtaining a favorable image without degrading resolution even with low-light intensity. SOLUTION: The solid state imaging device is provided so as to correspond to a plurality of rows, and equipped with a plurality of AD conversion means for converting an analog pixel signal into a digital pixel signal. Each AD conversion means is equipped with a comparator, a counter, and a count control part. The comparator compares a reference voltage having triangular waveforms with an analog signal from the corresponding vertical signal line. The count control part is connected to a plurality of output signal lines of the plurality of comparators including the comparator in the corresponding row and the comparator in the other row, and controls count operation of the counter in accordance with the state of the plurality of output signal lines. The counter outputs a count value showing the sum of the plurality of analog pixel signals input into the plurality of comparators as the digital pixel signal. COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT
