METHOD FOR PRODUCING AROMATIC SECONDARY AMINE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a highly safe method for producing an aromatic secondary amine with which the objective aromatic secondary amine can be produced in good yield with high selectivity in a small number of steps without using toxic aldehydes.

SOLUTION: An aromatic nitro compound is reacted with a nitrile compound in the presence of a platinum group element in a hydrogen atmosphere. Furthermore, an aromatic amine is reacted with the nitrile compound in the presence of the platinum group element and an acid in the hydrogen atmosphere.
