摘要 An optical power transfer system for powering a remote mobility system for multiple missions comprising a high power source and a chilling station connected to a laser source. The laser source transmits a high optical energy to a beam switch assembly via an optical fiber. The beam switch assembly is optically connected to actively cooled fiber spoolers. Docking stations are adapted for securing the fiber spoolers until alternatively ready for use by a remote mobility system. The remote mobility system is optically connected to the fiber spoolers and has a receiving port adapted for securing the fiber spoolers thereon. The fiber spooler transmits the optical energy to a power conversion system which converts the optical energy received to another usable form of energy. More than one power source may be used where the remote mobility system transfers from one source to another while maintaining an operational radius to each source.

An optical power transfer system for powering a remote mobility system for multiple missions, said optical power transfer system comprising: a high power source; a chilling station; a laser connected to said high power source and said chilling station; an optical fiber having a first end and a second end, said first end of said optical fiber connected to said laser; a beam switch assembly optically connected to said second end of said optical fiber, wherein said beam switch assembly comprises: at least one connector optically connected to said optical fiber;at least one beam forming optics for transmission of high optical energy transmitted from said at least one connector;a rotary mirror centrally positioned to receive said high optical energy, said rotary mirror being angled to reflect said high optical energy received;a plurality of fixed mirrors arrayed radially about said rotary mirror, said plurality of fixed mirrors angled toward said rotary mirror;a rotary shaft connected to said rotary mirror; anda servo motor for actuating said rotary shaft to rotate said rotary mirror; an inline coupler positioned between said laser and said beam switch assembly; a plurality of actively cooled fiber spoolers optically connected to said beam switch assembly; a power conversion system optically connected to said plurality of actively cooled fiber spoolers; an inline coupler positioned between said power conversion system and said plurality of actively cooled fiber spoolers; a plurality of docking ports positioned adjacent to said high power source and adapted for securing said plurality of actively cooled fiber spoolers; at least one remote mobility system optically connected to said plurality of actively cooled fiber spoolers; and wherein said power conversion system is located on said at least one remote mobility system, said power conversion system for converting optical energy received to another form of energy usable by said at least one remote mobility system.
