[Problem] To provide a power source apparatus and an electric device able to provide a desired amount of power even during standby. [Solution] A power source device (100) is provided with a current resonance circuit for driving a transformer (20) and a resonance circuit connected to the primary side of the transformer (20) using switching elements (24, 25) that periodically and repeatedly turn on and off, and a control unit (17) for controlling the switching elements (24, 25) so as to enter continuous operation to continuously and repeatedly switch on and off or intermittent operation to intermittently and repeatedly switch on and off in response to an external signal indicating continuous operation or intermittent operation. Also, the power source device (100) is provided with: a voltage detector (50) for detecting the voltage on the secondary side of the transformer (20); and changeover units (42, 43, 37, 38) for performing a changeover such that the control unit (17) controls the switching elements (24, 25) to enter continuous operation if the voltage detected by the voltage detector (50) is lower than a prescribed first threshold voltage (Vth1), when the control unit (17) controls the switching elements (24, 25) so as to enter intermittent operation in response to an external signal indicating intermittent operation. |
