摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a means for reducing the coloring of a part to be displayed darkly in an image display device having a backlight unit capable of local dimming control provided with a wavelength conversion member.SOLUTION: A backlight unit which can control backlight brightness every area includes a light source part and a wavelength conversion member located on an optical path of light emitted from the light source part. Therein, the wavelength conversion member has a wavelength conversion layer including at least a fluorescent body which is excited by excitation light and emits green light and a fluorescent body which is excited by excitation light and emits red light, the light source part includes a light source assigned at every area, a control at every area of the backlight brightness is performed by controlling each light emission intensity of the light source assigned at every area independent of a light emission intensity of a light source assigned to other areas, a light source assigned to at least one area includes a light source group made of at least two kinds of light sources having different light emission maximum wavelength and light emission intensity of at least one kind of light source included in the light source group can be controlled independent of the light emission intensity of the other light sources included in the light source group.
