<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a smooth inkjet recording sheet which has an excellent touch and a sense of nonglossy natural finish. <P>SOLUTION: In this inkjet recording sheet wherein an ink absorbing layer mainly composed of a pigment and a binding agent is provided on at least one surface on a substrate, the ink absorbing layer contains noncrystalline flaky silica. Preferably, in the noncrystalline flaky silica, a mean thickness is 1 μm or less; a means particle diameter is in the range of 1-30 μm; an aspect ratio is at least 5; and a size is uniform. Preferably, the scaly silica is subjected to surface treatment by a hydrophobicizing agent. More preferably, the hydrophobicizing agent is at least one selected from methylhydrogenpolysiloxane, a reactive alkylpolysiloxane, metallic soap, hydrogenated lecithin, an acyl amino acid, and a salt of acylated collagen with a metal selected from aluminum, magnesium, calcium, titanium, zinc, zirconium and iron. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI |
