PURPOSE:To carry out locking in line with a key operation by making a sub- lock locking/unlocking means continue the locking of a main lock means until a vehicle is stopped and ignition is turned off after locking the main lock means in a main retracting position by a sub-lock means. CONSTITUTION:When a key inserted into a key cylinder 1 is rotated from an ignition position and an ignition power line is turned off to stop an engine, a sub-locking/unlocking means drives a sub-lock means 6 to a sub-retraction position via a motor 22. Thereby, the locking of main lock members 8, 9 in a main retraction position is unlocked and, as a driver rotates the key to a pull-out position, a main lock locking/unlocking mechanism 2-5 drives a main lock means 7-9 to a main engaging position. Then, when the pull-out of the key is detected, the sub-lock means 6 is driven to a sub-engaging position by means of the motor 22 and, accompanying this, the main lock means 7-9 is engaged with the groove 11 of a steering shaft 10. Thereby, a steering lock handling which is rotationally in line with the key operation can be performed. |
