<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical module used for an optical pickup, an optical transmitter/receiver, or the like and its manufacturing method. <P>SOLUTION: This optical module 1 comprises an optical element 5 giving the path of outgoing light to be emitted to the outside and giving the path of incident light emitted from the outside, and a photodetector 3 detecting the incident light. The photodetector 3 is formed on a substrate 2 and the optical element 5 is constituted of a plurality of optical elements 6, 7, 8 which are integrally formed, and further, it is characterized in that the optical element 5 is integrally formed with the substrate 2 on the photodetector 3. The number of parts constituting the optical pickup and the optical transmitter/receiver is reduced, their mass productivity is improved, and a manufacturing cost is reduced by using the optical module. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI |
