PURPOSE:To produce the subject starch composed of small-sized fluid granules, low in dusting and ready to handle by dissolving potato starch in water, dehydrating it and carrying out shaping, granulation, drying and sieving without using an additive such as a binder at all. CONSTITUTION:Potato starch on the market is dissolved in water and dehydrated by using a rotary continuous dehydrating machine, etc., to form thin pieces of about 48wt.% water content. The resultant thin pieces are supplied to a hopper unit 2B3 of a shaping machine 2 of a granular potato starch-producing machine 1 and crushed by a crushing casing unit 2B5. The crushed material is allowed to pass through the meshes of an inclined shaking net 2B6 for shaping and the mesh-through portion is conveyed to a granulator 3 by a conveyor 2C. The irregular and angular shape of the conveyed shaped material is made almost spherical and uniform by a hangedstate sifter 3B supported by a frame 3A for preventing crushing during the following drying process. Drying and sieving are then carried out, thus affording the objective fluid potato starch granules having a small particle size. |
