The invention relates to a method and circuit for providing new services via a telecommunications network (1). The new services include, for example, forward and backward billing and data documentation via a telecommunications network. Backward billing setting, for example, enables the called subscriber to invoice the calling subscriber any amount for a consultation or service via a telecommunications network. The operator of the telecommunications network (1) is authorized by the called subscriber and the calling subscriber to collect said amount from the calling subscriber. The service "data documentation via a telecommunications network" makes it possible for contracts which are concluded by telephone between called and calling subscribers to be confirmed by a third party, namely the telecommunications network (1), as regards both the actual conclusion of the contract and, if requested by the called and calling subscribers, the contents of said contract. The invention also relates to a circuit for carrying out said method. Said circuit comprises a telecommunications network (1) with switching devices (2 and 3) to which are assigned specific terminals (5 or 6) of the calling and called subscriber, and a control switch (4) for forward and backward billing and/or a control switch (10) for "data documentation". The terminals (5 and 6) are connected to the switching devices (2 or 3) via signalling channels (7), a transmission channel (8) and information channels (9), and the switching devices are in turn connected to the above control switches (4, 10) via the information channels (9).
