A promoter of a dihydroxyacetone synthase gene of Candida boidinii; an expression cassette or vector containing this promoter and a foreign gene; a transformant transformed by this vector; and a process for producing the expression product of the foreign gene which comprises culturing the transformant and thus expressing the foreign gene.
