CATALYST CAPABLE OF ABSORBING OXYGEN AND ITS PRODUCTION

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To produce a catalyst capable of stably retaining the catalytic capacity in an excellent state by preventing agglomeration of an active particle capable of absorbing oxygen and to provide a method for producing the catalyst. SOLUTION: This catalyst is capable of absorbing oxygen and is produced by dispersedly depositing a particle capable of absorbing oxygen on a support, and has 10 nm or smaller particle diameter of the particle after heated at 900 deg.C. In the case of production of the catalyst, a process of producing a slurry by mixing a support particle with a liquid in which the particle capable of absorbing oxygen in dispersed is included as an intermediate process. Further, as another method, a process of adding a liquid in which the particle capable of absorbing oxygen is dispersed to a solution of alkoxides of metals as the supports and hydrolyzing the alkoxide of the metals as the supports is included as a process of synthesizing the support.
