PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an automatic bank book sucking/discharging mechanism operating smoothly by preventing incomplete suction or discharge due to hooking of a shutter to a bank book. SOLUTION: A bank book sucking/discharging mechanism for sucking a bank book 16 inserted into a bank book inserting opening 1a automatically, carrying the bank book to various processing mechanisms, and discharging the bank book from the various processing mechanisms automatically while preventing erroneous insertion at the time of operation and insertion of foreign matter at the time of nonoperation by controlling opening/closing of the bank book inserting opening 1a with a shutter 2 moving up and down is fixed with a shutter roller 3 rotatable forward and reversely to the bank book carrying direction to the lower end of the shutter 2.
