PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a highly strong antihypertensive compound having a characteristic simultaneously inhibiting NEP(neutral endopeptidase) and ACE (peptidyldipeptidase A) in an extremely low concentration. SOLUTION: This compound is represented by the general formula I (R is a group of the general formula (Ia); R1 is a 1 to 8C alkyl; R2 is non- substituted or substituted phenyl; or R1 may form a 2 to 8C alkylene chain together with C at the ortho-position of the phenyl group of R2; R3 is H or a 1 to 8C alkyl which may be substituted by a hydroxyphenyl group or benzyloxy group; and R' is H, a 1 to 8C alkyl or a 7 to 18C phenylalkyl) or its pharmaceutically acceptable salt.
