<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a copying machine which can form sharp images by sharpening contours of images of characters, figures, etc. SOLUTION: The copying machine forms the image composed of a plurality of pixels on a photoreceptor drum 27 by selectively turning on each of LED elements 244 of an LED array light irradiation device 24 based on image data. In the copying machine, there is set a means for controlling a quantity of light from the LED element 244 based on whether or not the light is shed onto a precedent pixel adjacent from the upstream side of a movement direction of a surface of the photoreceptor drum to the pixel on the photoreceptor drum 27 which is to be illuminated by the LED element when the LED element 244 is to be turned on.</p> |
