<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image receiving sheet and an image forming method which enable attainment of high sensitivity, while reducing the stain of an image and the deterioration of color reproducibility due to ablation of a photothermal conversion layer of an ink sheet, in a thermal transfer image recording system using the thermal transfer ink sheet and the image receiving sheet. <P>SOLUTION: In the image receiving sheet having a cushion layer and an image receiving layer on a support, a support-side adjacent layer to the image receiving layer contains a substance producing gas by laser exposure. Preferably, the support-side adjacent layer to the image receiving layer containing the substance producing the gas by the laser exposure or a support-side adjacent layer to that layer contains a photothermal conversion substance, the gas produced by the laser exposure is nitrogen, and the support-side adjacent layer to the image receiving layer contains a mat material. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI |
