<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a nonaqueous electrolyte secondary battery with large discharge capacity that, even after extraction of lithium up to a high potential, ensures stable structure and good cycle characteristics, and especially a nonaqueous electrolyte secondary battery having an improved positive electrode. <P>SOLUTION: This nonaqueous electrolyte secondary battery is equipped with a positive electrode containing a positive electrode active material consisting of sodium oxide; a negative electrode; and a nonaqueous electrolyte; and is characterized in that the sodium oxide contains lithium and that restriction is effected so as to cause the molar amount of lithium to be smaller than that of sodium. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT |
