PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a device for communication between vehicles capable of accurately receiving an optical signal transmitted from other vehicles.

SOLUTION: The device for communication between vehicles includes a receiving means for receiving an optical signal transmitted from other vehicles and a detecting distance between two vehicles means for detecting distance from another vehicle to the own vehicle. The receiving means increases or decreases a detection range for optical signal detection, based on the distance between two vehicles detected by the detection means.
