An attenuated Bordetella bronchiseptica(BBS) strain is provided to exhibit immunogenicity and show attenuated toxicity, thereby being be used as a live vaccine. An immunogenic composition comprising the same is provided to induce production of an antibody against BBS toxin in case of being administered into mammal. An attenuated BBS strain is characterized in that an aroA gene is deleted therefrom through homologous recombination and is deposited as a deposition no. KCCM-10840P. An immunogenic composition for treating or preventing BBS infection of mammal comprises the attenuated BBS strain and a pharmaceutically acceptable carrier or an adjuvant.
