<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To suppress the occurrence of jams by reducing a curl in paper in an image forming apparatus, in which the conveyance path is curved from a transfer roll directed toward a fixing device. <P>SOLUTION: The image forming apparatus includes: the transfer roll that transfers a toner image to the paper 18; the fixing device 29 that fixes a toner image transferred to the paper 18, to the paper 18 in a fixing nip N; a guide plate 40 that deflects the paper 18 from the transfer roll and guides it to the fixing device 29; and a solenoid 44 that moves the guide plate 40, in the direction in which the paper 18 is deflected. The solenoid 44 is controlled by a control section, such that the guide plate 40 is moved to increase the amount of deflection of the paper 18, deflected by the guide plate 40 according to the thickness of the paper 18. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT |
