<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To realize a music and video selling, providing and managing service while fully protecting copyrights. <P>SOLUTION: Instead of conventionally selling and providing music and video data to a user, the service first sells and provides music and video reproducing rights through a music and video management server, allowing the user to record and store the purchased rights in user's own storage medium (memory). For reproduction, the user accesses the online music distribution service through the Internet or other networks from a service-compatible reproducer or the like and then applies for reproduction using the reproducing rights. The service transmits the music and video data to any reproducer whenever and from wherever the user applies for reproduction, as far as permitted by a reproducing right management server.
