The method involves transmitting information for warning a driver of a motor vehicle (5) by a telemetric short-distance transmission from a communication device distant from the vehicle to a vehicle-sided telemetric device (1.2) during prevailing traffic nuisance. The received warning is displayed by a display (1.1) depending on a vehicle evaluation parameter. The display of warning to the driver is stopped when an actual vehicle speed evaluation parameter is smaller than high speed based on the transmitted and/or received information.
