PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a hydraulic power steering device in which an angle errorθ<SB>err</SB>does not deteriorate even under a case where a steering direction is changed under a relatively short period. SOLUTION: A hydraulic power steering comprises a valve 13 to connect hydraulic lines 16, 17 upon inputting of a valve control signal S<SB>B</SB>to enable hydraulic oil to be flowed, an error calculating part 23 for getting an angle errorθ<SB>err</SB>in reference to an equation of "a target steering wheel angleθ<SB>T</SB>- a steering wheel angleθ<SB>W</SB>", a steering direction discriminating part 25 for discriminating the steering direction, and a flowing means control part 24 for referencing the steering direction that is discriminated as the angle errorθ<SB>err</SB>and for outputting the valve control signal S<SB>B</SB>when a state in which the angle errorθ<SB>err</SB>is larger than a first threshold value and the steering direction is inverse or a state in which the angle errorθ<SB>err</SB>is smaller than the second threshold value and the steering direction is a normal steering direction continues for a predetermined period of time and for flowing oil to the valve 13.
