<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an inkjet recording medium which can obtain excellent recording quality in the use of either of a dye ink and a pigment ink, and which is excellent in both lightfastness and gas resistance. <P>SOLUTION: In this inkjet recording medium, at least two ink absorbing layers, each containing a pigment and an adhesive, are provided on the surface of a substrate; the outermost ink absorbing layer contains a first cationic polymer with a number average molecular weight of 80,000 or more and a cationization density of 6.5 meq/g or more; the ink absorbing layer, which is a lower layer adjacent to the outermost layer, contains a second cationic polymer with a number average molecular weight of 1,000-50,000 or more; and the adhesive for the outermost layer and the lower layer contains a polyvinyl alcohol with a polymerization degree of 1,000 or more and a saponification degree of 89 mol% or less. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI |
