PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus for reducing the consumption of a developer, while suppressing the degradation of image quality.SOLUTION: The image forming apparatus forming an image on the basis of image data includes a photoreceptor, exposure means for exposing the photoreceptor and forming an electrostatic latent image, developing means for developing the electrostatic latent image of the photoreceptor with the developer, to form the image, specification means for specifying a pixel to be corrected in the pixels of the image formed with the image data on the basis of the image data, and correction means for correcting an exposure amount by the exposure means with respect to the pixel to be corrected from an exposure amount indicated by the image data. The correction means corrects the exposure amount of the pixel to be corrected in such a manner that the area of at least a part of the pixel to be corrected is not exposed, according to a distance between the pixel to be corrected and the edge of the image formed with the image data.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 11 |
