PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an attachment for a hand held appliance capable of mitigating noise produced during use and overheating.SOLUTION: An attachment for a hand held appliance includes a first wall which defines a fluid flow path through the attachment extending from an annular first fluid inlet into the attachment to a first fluid outlet, where the fluid flow path has a cross-sectional area that expands from the first fluid inlet towards the first fluid outlet. The attachment may include a first part, which extends from the first fluid inlet towards the first fluid outlet, and a second part, which extends from the first fluid outlet towards the first fluid inlet, where the cross-sectional area expands in the first part. The first part may be conical in shape. The second part may be elliptical or generally rectangular in shape.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 7a |
