The present invention relates to a music search apparatus based on a color and a music search method using the music search apparatus, which search for a music related to a color rather than searching for a music based on a simple text or partial similarity of a music, thereby more accurately considering human emotion. The music search apparatus based on a color according to the present invention comprises: an input signal reception unit which receives a storage mode input signal or a search mode input signal from an interface unit of an external user terminal; a source sound information control unit which generates color-source sound information from the storage mode input signal, including color information about a source sound, based on the color information about the source sound; a representative information determination unit which determines representative information, including a representative color for the source sound, in accordance with a predetermined criterion based on the color-source sound information; a storage unit which stores the determined representative information with the determined representative information matched to the source sound; a source sound search unit which searches for a source sound corresponding to color information when the search mode input signal including the color information for a search for a source sound is received via the input signal reception unit; and a music information transmission unit which provides music information about source sounds, found by the source sound search unit, to the user terminal. The music information provided to the user terminal includes a list of the found source sounds, and any one of a source sound including an overall section and a source sound including a partial section. |
