New salts of 3-(2,2,2-trimethylhydrazinium)propionate as well as method for manufacture and pharmaceutical compositions on their basis are described. The common formulae of the compound is X-(CH3)3N+NHCH2CH2COOH where X- is an acid anion chosen from group of pharmaceutically acceptable acids. Particularly preferable for manufacture of various medicinal formulations are substantially non-hygroscopic acid salts of fumaric acid, phosphoric acid, orotic acid, oxalic acid, maleic acid, pamoic acid as well as 3-(2,2,2-trimethylhydrazinium)propionate orotate and galactarate. All pharmaceutical formulations can be administered orally, parenterally, subcutaneously, transdermally and rectally.
