1. A stretchable hydrogel which is produced from a hydrogel-forming composition comprising:
a polyelectrolyte having a carboxylic acid salt structure or a carboxylic acid anion structure (A), clay particles (B), and a dispersant (C) for the clay particles, wherein a product formed from the hydrogel-forming composition in a form of a column having a diameter of 6 mm and a length of 2 cm is stretchable 2 times or more in a length direction; each of the clay particles is a water-swelling silicic acid salt particle; and a primary particle of the clay particles has a diameter of 5 nm to 1,000 nm.
