The sight viewing line of the viewing device (11) is azimuthally referenced to the hull by the setting provided by a panel (26), and in the absence of actuation of an incremental controller (31), continuously provides a view in that direction. A sensor (28) detects movement of the turret (10) azimuthally and signals to processor (27) which consequently causes the servo drive (12) to counter-rotate the viewing device (11) to counteract the turret movement. Displays are provided both in the turret and hull and connected to the viewing device. Each display has a field of view, the line of sight of which is independent of the azimuthal position of the turret. |
