<p>In a joint for a modular tool holder of a machine tool for machining metals and other materials, adapted for assembling a first hollow element (1), such as a fastening cone, onto the spindle nose of the machine, provided with an axial cylindrical seat (2) and with an internal screw thread (3), with a second hollow element (6), such as a tool holder, provided with a cylindrical shank (7) intended to be housed in the seat (4) of the first element (1), the said joint comprising a shaft (9) provided with an external screw thread (11) capable of interacting with the internal screw thread (3) of the first element (1), and with an axial seat of polygonal section (13) for a corresponding tightening key, and furthermore comprising a strip (22) for locking the second element (6) in rotation relative to the first element (1), the axial locking of the second element (6) relative to the said shaft (9) is obtained by means of a race of ball bearings (17) housed in a peripheral groove (16) which is made half in the shaft (9) and half in the shank (7) of the second element (6), such that the rotation of the said shaft (9) in one direction or the other causes the locking or unlocking, respectively, of the second element relative to the first; and, furthermore, the locking of the second element (6) in rotation relative to the said shaft (9) is obtained by means of a tooth (27) which passes radially into the second element (6) with the head introduced into one of a plurality of cavities (25) made in the shaft (9), and held in place by means of an elastic peg (29). …<IMAGE>… </p> |
