<p>PURPOSE:To remove a harmful gas promoting the malodor and ageing in a refrigerator with a simple structure by providing a deodorizing member consisting of zeolite, a heating element for heating the member and a means for supplying water to a position in contact with the gas generated from the zeolite. CONSTITUTION:A catalytic body is formed with a nichrome wire 1, a quartz tube 2 and a coating layer 3 formed on the surface of the tube and insulated and held by an insulator 4. When the nichrome wire 1 is not energized, the malodorous component in the chamber is adsorbed on the zeolite in the coating layer 3 and removed. The nichrome wire 1 is energized before the malodorous component is adsorbed to the limit of adsorptivity of the layer 3 to radiate the heat ray to the layer 3, and the malodorous component adsorbed on the layer 3 is oxidized and cleaned. Besides, an air current 5 is generated as convection close to the catalytic body the air close to the catalytic body is also heated. When the air current is brought into contact with the layer 3, the malodors, etc., are cleaned off. This device is set in a refrigerator as a defrosting heater to remove the harmful gas promoting the malodor and ageing in the refrigerator.</p> |
