METHOD FOR PRODUCING COMPOSITE METAL WIRE MATERIAL

PURPOSE: To provide an inexpensive producing method for producing a metallic composite wire rod provided with a hard core material difficult to be deformed and a soft coated material and having almost endless length, to surely obtain the good roundness of the wire at the producing time and to secure the uniformity and the concentricity of the core. CONSTITUTION: A rod made of a hard material is inserted into a pipe made of a soft material and a two-material composite having intermediate size reduced by at least 50% to the cross section, is formed by hot-rolling and drawing. Subsequently, another pipe made of a soft material is fitted onto the two- material composite and a three-material composite formed in this way is drawn to this final size by hot-rolling or cold-rolling and successive cold-drawing.
