<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a synthetic polymer composition which forms an interpenetrating polymer network when it is given to a tissue. <P>SOLUTION: This composition comprises (a) a first poly-functional synthetic polymer which has one core and m-functional groups X, (b) a multi-functional cross-linking agent which has n-functional groups Y, and (c) a tensile strength enhancing agent. Here, (a), (b), and (c) form an interpenetrating network structure through the formation of a covalent bond Z from the reaction of the functional group X and the functional group Y when they are blended together. And this interpenetrating polymer network structure formed like this has at least 10% of the tensile strength of cyanoacrylate when measured under an identical condition. In a desirable example, this composition includes the synthetic polymer in which two poly-functional groups are activated with the tensile strength enhancing agent. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI |
