The braking indicator which anticipates signalling of braking of a vehicle, detects the movement of the driver's foot toward the brake pedal and activates a warning signal. A photodetector is placed on the brake pedal facing a light emitter that is mounted under the dashboard. The light emitter is positioned so that its light falls on the photodetector until the driver moves his foot toward the brake pedal and interrupts the light beam. The activation triggers a circuit that flashes the stop lamps at the rear of the vehicle. USE/ADVANTAGE - Gives earlier warning of vehicle braking, reducing risk of rear-end collisions.
