This invention relates to improvements in and relating to feeds for marine life. Specifically, this invention relates to new seaweed based feeds for marine organisms, particularly intended for use in the aquaculture of abalone. The feeds comprise a base of processed seaweed, which may be produced as a byproduct of commercial agar extraction, to which additional nutrients and gelling agents are optionally added. The feeds are in gelled or solid form, may be dehydrated, and are resistant to dissolution in water. A method of manufacturing the feeds is also disclosed. |
