Thermal convection screen between fuel tank and exhaust pipe

The vehicle fuel tank (1) which is in direct contact with the atmosphere on its external surface is fixed to the bodywork bottom rear part. An exhaust pipe (4) extends along the vehicle median axis between the front mounted engine and the rear part. The bodywork bottom rear part has a screen extending either side the exhaust pipe. This screen reduces convective thermal exchange between the fuel tank and the outside air. The screen comprises deflectors fixed to the base between the engine and the tank. The deflectors divert the front air flow to the vehicle sides. Each deflector has an L shaped longitudinal section.
