<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve durability and cycle properties at high temperature by suppressing a decrease in battery capacity following charge/discharge cycles at high temperature, in a nonaqueous electrolyte secondary battery using a lithium transition metal compound oxide having a laminar structure as a positive electrode active substance. <P>SOLUTION: The nonaqueous electrolyte secondary battery comprises a positive electrode containing a positive electrode active substance for storing/discharging lithium, a negative electrode containing a negative electrode active substance for storing and discharging lithium, and a nonaqueous electrolyte having lithium ion conductivity. In the nonaqueous electrolyte secondary battery, the lithium transition metal compound oxide having a laminar structure in which the surface is covered with Al<SB>2</SB>O<SB>3</SB>fine particles is used as the positive electrode active substance. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI |
