PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming device capable of displaying the contamination state of a transfer belt, the life, maintenance timing, etc., by detecting the contamination state of the transfer belt. SOLUTION: An image forming device such as a digital copying machine is constituted so as to transfer a toner image maintained on a photoreceptor drum 1 onto sheets of paper by using a transfer belt 7. And, this device is provided with a reflection type sensor 16 to optically detect a surface state of the transfer belt 7 and receives the output of this reflection type sensor 16 according to a transport timing of the sheets of paper, and thus, judges a contamination state on the surface of the transfer belt 7, the life, maintenance timing, etc., and displays them on a display part of an operation panel. |
